In 2014, Milwaukee Tool acquired Empire Level, a leading designer and producer of levels, squares, layout tools and caution tape. Empire Level was more than 100 years old and had lost its identity and edge in the marketplace in recent years. Milwaukee saw this as an opportunity to not only help redefine the brand, but also to expand its depth in the tool industry.
